We rented a car to go to the fair on Thursday and to take Rebecca back to her apartment. We had intended that she would take public transportation back to her apartment, but we discovered that we could have a rental car dropped at the campground for us for two days and it would cost about the same as using public transportation. So, yesterday (Friday the 8th), we drove back into New York City in our rental car and dropped Rebecca off. We spent about 8 hours exploring her neighborhood and helping her unpack her boxes and arrange her room. In the end, all that stuff we had packed into the RV actually did fit into her apartment. She still has some things to clean up, but as the pictures show, she is well on her way to being settled.
The inside pictures show her bedroom, their TV area and the part of the original living room that is going to be sectioned off for a third bedroom, and their kitchen. The dark picture is the outside of her apartment building at night, but I don't really think it worked at all!
We took one wrong turn as we were leaving New York and ended up spending an extra half hour in the city. But, in the end, we made our way across the Hudson River on the George Washington Bridge and back to our campground. It is only about an hour drive from the New Jersey mountains to Rebecca's apartment. It is amazing how close the rural, natural world is to the massive city!
In our driving into and out of New York City, we used three different routes to cross the Hudson: Lincoln Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, and George Washington Bridge. We feel so adventuresome!
