We arrived at the Lena, IL, KOA in the rain on Thursday afternoon. Since another camper had parked his truck in our campsite, we had to remain on hold for a couple of hours until the camper returned to the campground and moved the truck. We finally got to move onto our site in the early evening. It was still raining and we could not get Internet, so we were not very happy campers. Luckily, the morning brought sunshine and Internet that worked.
Scott and Dianne Pickford came up to camp with us for the weekend. Before we had children and when our children were young, we used to camp together. So, we revisited our camping--but without the children since their girls, like our girls, are grown up!
The four of us went to Stockton on Friday night for pizza and to the Lena Fall Festival and the Honey Hill Apple Orchard on Saturday. Saturday night, we grilled and relaxed around a campfire.
